How To Scan For Bad Sector On My Hard Drive?

Submitted by admin on September 22, 2009 – 4:42 am2 Comments

I have a new (used) hard drive. I use windows xp. I run a “disk scan” on that drive and since there’s no data on it it only takes 1 second to complete the scan. I want to run a complete scan for identifying any bad sector that it might have. the “disk scan” in xp doesn’t do what i wanted it to do. I want to identify any bad sector so when i put data in it it won’t write to those bad sector. how do i do that? thanks.
