Photosmart C4180 Won’t Install.?

Submitted by admin on November 11, 2009 – 5:26 amOne Comment

I have a Dell Dimension E521 Computer and I have an HP Photosmart C4180 printer/scanner to go with it. My printer scanner has never had a problem until now.
The last couple of weeks saw me getting a couple of viruses or trojans or something. I finally had to do a total restore of everything which wipes everything out and then restores everything.
Everything goes just fine until I reinstall my printer. I seem to have lost my printer/scanner disk so I just get on the internet and download the driver for the Photosmart C4180 Printer/Scanner. The driver begins it’s install and right at the 3/4 mark it locks up and tells me there’s an exception at 0000something or other. It’s done that 4 times in a row.
I’m real sure I’m downloading the right driver. Boy I wish I had a disc for this printer.
Any ideas on my problem or getting a disc without a big expense?
Thanks.

Restart the computer and make sure that you DO NOT plug in the printer until the installer tells you to.
